Holga and I 2006

Travel photographs from time spent wandering in Central & South America, shot with a Holga medium format camera, 120mm film. Part of the joy of shooting film using a cheap camera that lets light in where it shouldn't, is anything you get back from the photo lab that captures something is a bonus. Also, unlike the digital photography, you never know what you are going to get at the end and can't edit and delete along the way, which doesn't leave much room for surprises or the unexpected.

The images featured below are from Mexico, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile, and were part of a solo exhibition Here there and back again at the Mount Marua Gallery, Expressions Arts and Entertainment Centre, Upper Hutt, New Zealand.
