Nailed exhibition, 2003, Wellington,
New Zealand.

Approximately eighteen thousand nails, a heck of a lot of hammering, patience and forgiving neighbours, were all part of what went into this project.

In conjunction with Blind week, the aim of the work was to give people who are blind or vision impaired, an equal opportunity to engage with the artworks alongside people who can see.

By using nails as the medium, I was able to create relief based works that explored subtle shifts in patterns (large works) and language (small works), that could be interpreted through sight and touch alike.
